New Release: Content Create
Our no-code app builder just got a major overhaul
#1 — Always remain in context
Halfway through building this feature, we considered renaming this massive update to “context create”, as that’s what it’s really about — keeping you in context the whole time you build. We found that with our previous builder, it was easy to get lost, as you switched between your app homepage and the various content types, ie. articles, meals, workouts, etc.
The editor overhaul ensures that you are constantly aware of where you are, while you add content or edit content on your homepage.
Now, when you click the + button to add a ‘content’ block, your content pulls up via an overlay on the same screen, so you don’t have to jump in and out of different places or add extra clicks to arrive at your content.
You can add pre-built content from your library, our library, or create new content directly from the pop-out.
If you already have content on the page you are editing, you can now click the content item on the righthand panel to do a quick update. Click, update the name, save and you’re done!
#2 — Helpful breadcrumbs to keep you in context
You will now see ‘breadcrumbs’ at the top of every page to keep you in context and aware of where you are in the builder at any time.
These breadcrumbs are linked making for easy navigation. They also provide a path way for you to see exactly where you are in the builder.
#3 — Easier access to Global App Settings & live updates
Your global app settings now live in one place and are easier to update. Changes update live, so you can see exactly how your app looks depending on the styles you choose.
Now, you will define your App Name, Icon, Branding, App Access, Header Bar, and your Navigation Bar all from this helpful panel.
You can find your app settings on the bottom lefthand side of your app builder page.
#4 — Easier navigation to your content
As mentioned, with our previous builder, it was easy to get lost. The Content tab is dedicated to fixing that. Seamlessly browse & switch between your Meals, Articles, Exercises, Workouts & Programs. No more back and forth, trying to remember where you were, its all under this tab.
#5 — Re-order top level pages in the page tree
Previously, top level pages in your page tree were unable to be moved or re-ordered. What we thought no one would care about, ended up being a highly requested feature!
In this update you can re-organise all of your pages, however you like.
#6 — Libraries have finally launched!
Libraries have arrived! Now, when adding new content your app, simply select the “Libraries” tab. Here you will find all of the content from the Fitter library, including hundreds of meals, articles and exercises. Simply click the items you would like to add, and you’re done!
Adding from the library creates a copy on your account. This means you can update any of the details after copying.
Re-ordering content items now updates live
Your changes are now reflected instantly in the preview when you re-order content items
Quick access to page settings
Page settings now appears in a overlay, making it easy to quickly update the page title or URL
Easily View & Create Forms
Forms have been elevated to the top level alongside “Content” & “Templates”. We have improved the navigation, but have big changes coming to forms… watch this space. 👀
In this release, the sidebar has been cleaned up. It now gives you quick access to the most important parts of the admin, Dashboard, App Builder, Subscribers & Account.
